It’s not what you say out of your mouth
that determines your life,
it’s what you whisper to yourself
that has the most power!

The world we are a part of is a beautiful place; everything in it is working in perfect order, according to the Universal Laws.

It is also an institute for raising human consciousness.

We begin here as a baby with no conscious awareness of anything, then we start growing and learning, as we learn we expand our awareness, and according to the growth of our conscious awareness our life starts to grow and transform into a higher expression of life.

Difference between Winners and Losers

There are two types of people in the world

The first types of people are the people who see life as an adventure, live the life of their dreams, they do what they love, and they use their time in the most productive way, those people are called the winners.

Other types of people are those who see life as a burden, they live in misery, they struggle most of the time, they do what they don’t love, they hate their job, they always settle for a lot less than they really want.

The real difference between a winner and a loser is that the winner is aware of the great power that lives within them and calls upon it whenever they need, in order to get their desired results.

While a loser relies only upon the recourses outside of them,

When the winners want to turn their dreams into physical reality they call upon this great power within and they work with it and change the reality, not just for themselves but for everyone.

Think about what Edison did with his dream of creating an electric bulb, he illuminated the entire world.

Think about what the Wright brothers did with their dream of flying in the air, they bring the whole humanity closer to each other.

The history is filled with examples of ordinary men who did extraordinary things when they gain the awareness of the great power within them and called upon it.

Now, we all are like those men who accomplished extraordinary things, the only difference between them and us is in the Perception.

How we see ourselves within, defines how we are going to live without.

We all have infinite potential locked up within us waiting to be released.

The Power that flows within and through you is the same power with which all the great achievers achieved greatness, you have the same mental tool as those great people had, it just a matter of learning how to use them.

What is a Self-Image

The prime cause of success and failure in life is the hidden self-image that every person has in their mind.

Every person born exactly the same but as they start to grow, their subconscious mind receives information from the environment and as they become grown enough to identify themselves as an individual person, their self-image has been installed in the subconscious mind, and that self-image set the boundaries of their performance.

A self-image is a person’s own conception about themselves, their belief about what they are capable of, how they see themselves.

Self-image controls the life of a person to a degree that no matter what they try and how hard they try it, they cannot outperform their self-image.

You also have a self-image, and that self-image is controlling everything that comes into your life.

If you are wondering what kind of self-image you have, it’s not a difficult thing to figure out.

In order to find what kind of self-image you have, take an honest look at the various areas of your life, and see what kind of results are you getting in those areas of your life.

Take a look at your relationships, your income, the work you do, the people you associate yourself with, how do you look, the way you speak, how do you act, these all aspects are the outer expression of the inner image of yourself that is fixed in your subconscious mind.

Now, when you alter this self-image inside, everything outside of you would start to change.

The problem with most people is that they try to change the results in their life without changing the self-image.

It’s exactly like trying to change the reflection of them in the mirror without changing their physical appearance, it’s never gonna happen.

Now, in order to change your self-image, you have to understand the mind, and how it operates.

The Mind

When it comes to thinking about the mind, most people think about the brain, but the brain is not the mind, the brain is the instrument of the mind.

The mind is an activity inside and the brain & body is the outer expression of that inner activity.

The mind has two aspects of it, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

Those two aspects of the mind are connected with each other, they influence each other all the time, but they work in completely different ways.

The conscious mind is the thinking mind, it’s the part where our wishes and wants live, it is also the part where our intellectual faculties reside.

We think, analyze, understand, and reason with our conscious mind, we make a decision with our conscious mind, we originate thoughts with our conscious mind.

It has the ability to accept or reject any idea that is being presented but it is not the part which controls our behaviors and results in life.

Our behaviors and results are controlled by the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is quite different than the conscious mind. It has no ability to reject an idea that is being impressed upon it, it must accept it.

It is also the emotional mind, and it has no ability to differentiate between a real event and an event we create in our mind by thoughts alone.

When an idea or image is impressed upon the subconscious mind, it creates an emotion which is then expressed through the body as actions and behaviors.

When an idea is impressed upon the subconscious mind over and over again, it becomes fixed in the subconscious mind, and the behaviors which are the expression of that idea become automatic for the body to perform.

Those automatic behaviors are more commonly known as Habits, and those behaviors produce the results we get in our life.

To graphically understand how mind-body works, I would like to share with you the picture that “Bob Proctor” uses in his teachings.

Now, our self-image is fixed in our subconscious mind, it controls every act we make, it controls how we perceive our life, and it ultimately controls the results we get in our life.

In his great bookPsycho-Cybernetics author “Dr. Maxwell Maltz” wrote in a very precise manner how our Self-Image literally controls our life.

At the beginning of the book, the author wrote-

“All your actions, feelings, behavior even your abilities—are always consistent with the self-image.

In short, you will “act like” the sort of person you conceive yourself to be. Not only this, but you literally cannot act otherwise, in spite of all your conscious efforts or will power.

The man who conceives himself to be a “failure- type person” will find some way to fail, in spite of all his good intentions, or his will power, even if the opportunity is literally dumped in his lap. The person who conceives himself to be a victim of injustice, one “who was meant to suffer,” will invariably find circumstances to verify his opinions.

He further wrote-

The self-image is a “premise,” a base, or a foundation upon which your entire personality, your behavior, and even your circumstances are built. Because of this our experiences seem to verify, and thereby strengthen our self-images, and a vicious or a beneficent cycle, as the case may be, is set up.

Read this book and you will gain an understanding of why did your efforts failed even when you put all the work you could, and how you can change the outcome of your efforts.

How the Self-Image Operates

The first thing to understand is that the self-image is a subconscious program, which operates within its boundaries without needing any assistance from the conscious mind.

The self-image operates almost exactly like an automatic pilot on an airplane.

Let suppose a plane is going from New York to London, during its journey the pilot activates the autopilot with a destination set as London.

If that plane gets hit with some unexpected turbulence and get knocked off course. Autopilot sense the deviation from the set objective which is London, it sends it to the coordinating mechanism which will cause some internal mechanical process of the plane to change in order to bring it back on its set objective, and the plane will ultimately end up at its destination.

Now, the self-image is also like that autopilot, it also works according to the ultimate beliefs of a person about himself/herself.

For example- let suppose a salesperson has a self-image that he gets a million dollars worth of business per year.

Now he got some motivation and he wrote 300,000 dollars worth of business in a month, self-image will pick up that deviation from the set objective which is a million-dollar per year, it will feed it through a coordinating mechanism which is person’s central nervous system, the behavior patterns of the person will change, and at the end of the year, he will have written a million dollar worth of business.

To understand it better let see another example- if a student has a self-image that he is a “D” average student.

Let say because of the pressure from parents and teachers, this student put some extra effort to study and gets a “B” average in the test. Self-image picks up that deviation from the set objective which is “D” average, it feeds it through the coordinating mechanism, the student’s behavior patterns will change, and the students will be right back on being a “D” average student.

Now, in the above examples, the person is trying to change the end results without altering the self-image, which cannot happen.

So, in order to really change we have to alter the old self-image first and build a new one.

Once you are able to install a new self-image in your subconscious mind, your behaviors will change to match the set objective of the new self-image, and ultimately the results you want will begin to manifest and they will be permanent.

How to create a new Self-Image

In order to change the old self-image, the first thing you should do is to become familiar with the old self-image.

Observe your unconscious thoughts feelings and behaviors, they are the expression of that old self-image.

Observe how you speak, how you perceive your life, what type of people you associate yourself with.

Review them in your mind, become so familiar with them that they do not go unnoticed by your awareness again.

Now, understand that this is the old self-image, and your present life is an expression of that self-image.

The new self-image that you want to create is not present yet in your subconscious mind, so the expression of that new self-image is in the unknown future.

Understand this- when you are in the process of altering your self-image, your environment would give you feedback for a period of time that it’s not happening, because your old self-image would want you to go back to being the same old personality.

In this period you have to use your will power to focus on a future that you cannot yet perceive with your physical senses.

Now, in order to create the new self-image the first step is to fantasize, free your mind from everything in your known environment, and dream about how you would really like to live your life.

Build the image of the person you want to be, the relationships you want to have, the results you want to get, the amount of money you want to earn.

Write down your vision of the new self-image in as much details as possible; write it in the present tense as you are already this person.

Now compare your vision with how you are living in your present reality, and then you would understand what changes you need to make, and start making those changes one at a time.

When you are in the process of changing your self-image, there would be two personalities of yourself for you to perceive, the ‘old you’ and the ‘new you’.

Every time you would meet a challenge, you would start having doubt in your mind and your focus would move to the old self-image, if you keep your focus on the old self-image for an extended period of time, you won’t be able to alter that self-image.

What you need to do in that condition is to free your mind from any kind of thought, let your body relaxed for a time, and then shift your focus on the new self-image by visualizing your new personality.

Every time you would do that your will power would be getting stronger than the subconscious program and the old self-image would become weaker and weaker, and eventually, your old self-image would fade away and your life would become the expression of new self-image.

Relaxation and Meditation

You need to understand that it is not easy to visualize a future when it is contrary to your present reality.

Every time you start to visualize your new self-image the emotion that is the expression of the old self-image would start to mess with your mental process,

And if you try to create the new self-image while you are in the emotional boundaries of the old self-image, you won’t be able to impress your self-image upon the subconscious mind.

In order to lower the volume of the emotion associated with the old self-image, and properly impress the new self-image in your subconscious mind, meditation is the best tool you can use.

Find yourself some time where you won’t be disturbed by anyone or anything, it should be first thing in the morning or the last thing before going to bed, this is important because in those times our brain wave pattern changes, and we move through a theta brain wave pattern which is best to reprogram the subconscious mind.

Disconnect from your known environment, sit your body down, play some soft music in the background, close your eyes, take a few very slow and very deep breaths, free your mind from any kind of thought and focus your attention on your breathing, let your brain and body become totally relaxed.

Now, start to see yourself, in your mind, as the new self that you want to become, see yourself living the life you really want to live, see yourself earning the amount of money you want to earn, see yourself being a truly happy, healthy, and prosperous person.

Everything you wrote down as your new self-image, imagine yourself living as that person, pay attention to your inner creative thoughts and feel how you would feel when it would manifest in your reality.

It would seem difficult in the beginning but as you would do it every day it would get easier and easier, and then you would be able to call it whenever you want, it would become so familiar to you that you won’t have to try to create it in your mind anymore, it would become natural to you, and that’s when the magic would begins to happen.

Every time you visualize the new self that you want to be, you impress the new self-image upon the subconscious mind.

When you keep doing it over and over again, the old self-image would become weaker and the new self-image would become stronger, and slowly-slowly the old self-image would fade away and the new self-image would become your default self-image, and the results will be visible for the whole world to see.

One day you would look back at your life and realize that you are actually living your fantasy, and you will understand that what you are seeing is the expression of your new self-image.
